FiatLux Software is a small, independent software studio based in Croatia. The name is Latin for "let there be light". We build things that are clear, solid, and do exactly what they should.
We're deliberately small, and we take on a limited number of projects at a time. Not for the sake of exclusivity, but because it's the only way to do the work properly. When you work with us, you work directly with the person writing your code: no sales team, no project manager relaying messages, no offshore shop you never speak to. Decisions stay fast, context stays intact, and one person stands behind the result.
And we build the whole stack: systems-level C++ where performance and correctness matter, full-stack web and applications on top, and the databases, APIs, and deployment that hold it together. Because we understand every layer, we can make the right call at each one.
We talk through what you are trying to do and whether we are the right people for it. No charge and no obligation. If it is not a good fit, we say so on that call rather than three weeks into a quote.
For anything beyond a simple site we map the scope and the architecture first, for €250 to €400, and the document is yours to keep whether or not you build with us. A price quoted before anyone understands the problem is a guess, and guesses get padded. The quote that follows is fixed, and nothing gets re-estimated halfway through.
You watch progress as it happens instead of waiting for a reveal at the end. Feedback loops are short, and decisions get made with you. Larger projects are delivered and paid in phases, so you are never funding work you have not seen.
You review the finished work on a live staging address before the final payment. Then we ship it, document it, and make sure you or your next developer can run it. The code, design, domain, and content are registered to you. There is nothing to unlock and nobody to keep paying.

We work with businesses: companies, sole traders, and public institutions, across Croatia and the EU. Work is remote first. We are based in Koprivnica, so clients nearby can meet in person when that is easier than a call.
We do not take private consumer projects, and we turn down work that we are not the right fit for. That is not a formality. A project that needs a team of eight, or a stack we have no business touching, is better off elsewhere, and saying so early costs you less than finding out late.
Invoicing is by bank transfer against an e-invoice: half when the quote is accepted, half at launch.
From C++ to CSS, we don't outsource the hard parts. The same person works across the whole stack.
