Privacy & legal

Plain answers to the boring but important questions: what we do with your data (very little), and who you are actually dealing with.

01

Privacy statement

Who is responsible

FiatLux Software is the data controller. You can reach us at [email protected] for anything in this statement. The full company details are in the imprint below.

What we collect

Only what you choose to send us. The contact form does not submit anything to a server: it builds a message in your own email app, and you send it yourself. So we receive your name, email address, and whatever you write, exactly as you would in any normal email. This site runs no analytics and sets no tracking cookies.

Spam protection

The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which tells people apart from bots. To do that, it processes technical data about your connection and browser, such as your IP address. It sets no tracking cookies, and the data is not used for advertising. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the form usable.

Security check

The site is served by Cloudflare, which protects it from automated attacks and may show a brief security check before a page loads. The check looks at technical data about your connection and browser, such as your IP address. For this protection Cloudflare may set two cookies: cf_clearance, which remembers that you passed a check so you are not asked again on every page (expires after 30 minutes), and __cf_bm, which helps tell people apart from bots (expires after 30 minutes of inactivity). Neither is used for tracking or advertising. Both are strictly necessary, so no consent banner is needed. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site online and secure.

Browser storage

We store two small settings in your browser: your theme (light or dark), and a note that you have closed our cookie notice so it does not reappear. Both stay on your device, only remember your choices, and are never sent to us. Both are strictly functional, so no consent is needed for them.

Why, and on what basis

We use what you send only to read and answer your enquiry and, if it goes further, to take the first steps toward working together. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying to you and taking steps at your request before any contract.

How long we keep it

We keep your message for as long as we need to handle the enquiry and any work or correspondence that follows. When it is no longer needed, we delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete, or restrict your data, object to its use, or receive a copy. Just write to [email protected] and we will sort it out.

Supervisory authority

If you believe we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP), azop.hr.

Copyright & terms

Who owns what's here

Everything on this site, the text, design, layout, code, graphics, and the FiatLux Software name, is our work and our property. It is protected by copyright from the moment it was created, with no registration needed. Work we deliver to clients is covered by the terms of each project agreement, not by this page.

What you can and can't do

You are welcome to read the site, link to it, and share it. You may not copy, republish, or reuse its text, design, or code, in whole or in part, or pass it off as your own, without our written permission. Quoting a short passage with a link back is fine.

No warranty

The site is provided as is, for information about what we do. We keep it accurate as best we can, but we do not guarantee it is complete or error-free, and nothing here is a binding offer on its own. The terms of any actual work are set out in a separate written agreement.

Governing law

This site and these terms are governed by Croatian law. If you have a question about any of it, write to [email protected].

Accessibility

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA: keyboard support, visible focus, readable contrast, and respect for reduced-motion settings. If anything on this site is hard to use, tell us at [email protected] and we will fix it.
